Winter Function 2022

jonah.id/wf22

Hello, if you are reading this then you’ve been invited to a friendsgiving/Christmas/general-purpose holiday dinner party that I (your friend/archnemesis Jonah) am hosting at my home. First, please RSVP s’il vous plaît by November 21st: https://forms.gle/iYJ1zgQGcwQaEkAd8

Note: It is the middle of the holidays and for everyone’s sake (including my own) I’m not interested in creating a superspreader event. Pretty please take a rapid COVID test the day-of, and I strongly encourage you to make sure you’ve got your latest booster and flu vaccination.

Information structured as questions you might ask, and the answers I might give were you to ask me

Q: When is this happening?
A: Oh yeah sorry I probably should have told you that first. December 10th, 6 PM (calendar)

Q: Where is this happening?
A: Frik that’s another obvious one my bad. [REDACTED] (map)

Q: How do I get there?
A: The S/M/KT lines pass my place, get off at Castro Station. The 24 line passes as well, get off at 16th street. The 33 line passes close too, get off at Castro. It’s a little farther away, but get off the N at Duboce & Noe. There is a Baywheels rack nearby at 16th and Proper. And finally if you are arriving by car first of all, uninvited, second of all there is plenty of of street parking on my street up the hill.

Q: What food will be there?
A: The menu will be pescatarian, leaning vegan where reasonable.

Q: How should I dress?
A: Dress in a way that you’ll be comfortable! Jeans? No problem! Fancy dress you’ve been looking for an excuse to wear? Go for it! Hardly ever get a chance to wear a suit? Knock yourself out! Sweatpants because you want to be cozy? Eh no (see Paradox of tolerance). I’ll be steam mopping after so you can even keep your shoes on if you really want to show them off.

Q: How many people will be there?
A: 29 people at this point, between yes RSVPs and +1s.

Q: It’s actually more of a comment. Your URL represents the year with two digits, which leaves you vulnerable to integer overflow.
A: Ah but you see I will be long dead before the year 2122, so as long as I carefully write any date-handling software to treat “22” as 2022 and “21” as 2119, then there’s no issue.

If you decided to read all of the info first before making your decision, good job doing your due diligence, high-five. Here’s another handy link to the RSVP form: https://forms.gle/iYJ1zgQGcwQaEkAd8
